A pair of tiny knitted booties has once again sent the internet into celebration mode. Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra have announced that they are expecting their second child, sharing the happy news in a family post that also features their daughter Saraayah.
The couple shared the announcement on Instagram, recreating a detail from the way they had announced Saraayah’s arrival last year. In the picture, Kiara, Sidharth and their daughter can be seen holding a fresh pair of baby booties.
“Blessed once again with the greatest gift of all. Our hearts are so full of love and gratitude,” Kiara wrote alongside the post.
A family announcement with a familiar detail
The new announcement appears to echo the couple’s earlier pregnancy reveal. This time, however, their daughter Saraayah is part of the picture as the family prepares to welcome another baby.
The knitted booties became the centrepiece of the announcement, with Kiara and Sidharth holding them alongside Saraayah. The couple had used a similar idea when they shared the news of their first child last year.
How Kiara and Sidharth first met
Kiara and Sidharth first met while working on the 2021 war drama ‘Shershaah’. Sidharth played Captain Vikram Batra, the Param Vir Chakra recipient, while Kiara portrayed Dimple Cheema, his girlfriend.
The film premiered on Amazon Prime Video and received praise from critics. While working together on the project, the two actors reportedly began dating.
Their relationship had already become a subject of public speculation by then. Rumours about the pair had been circulating since 2020, although neither actor publicly confirmed the relationship at the time.
Karan Johar added to the relationship buzz
The relationship speculation received another push in 2022 when filmmaker Karan Johar appeared to confirm that Kiara and Sidharth were together.
During an appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan’, Johar referred to Kiara as Sidharth’s girlfriend. The comment added to the growing public interest around the two actors, who had continued to keep much of their personal life away from the spotlight.
Kiara and Sidharth got married on February 7, 2023, in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
Their wedding quickly became one of the most closely followed celebrity events.
