On Tuesday, September 22, Imtiaz Ali gave fans a glimpse of daughter Ida Ali’s engagement by sharing a picture from the ceremony on Instagram. Ida looked elegant in a baby pink saree, while Krish complemented her in a black sherwani. The couple was seen exchanging rings and smiling as they marked the special occasion. Along with the picture, he wrote, “Seeking your blessings, the newly engaged Krish Agrawal and Idaa.”
Back in July, Ida had shared glimpses of the proposal on Instagram. On July 12, she posted a video capturing Krish’s romantic proposal in Norway, where she also showed off her diamond engagement ring. Speaking to Hindustan Times about the special moment earlier, Imtiaz Ali described it as “the greatest happiness” for him. The filmmaker also revealed that Krish had spoken to him before going ahead with the proposal to Ida.
Krish Agrawal, 24, works as a quantitative researcher at a hedge fund. He and Ida have been in a long-term relationship and are said to share a love for travel. Ida, meanwhile, is pursuing a career in filmmaking. She developed an interest in storytelling at a young age and directed her first short film, Lift, at 17. She later studied filmmaking at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California. The couple is yet to announce the wedding date.
Imtiaz Ali, meanwhile, is currently working on his next directorial. The details about the project are under wraps. His last release, Main Vaapas Aaunga, featured Vedang Raina, Sharvari, Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. The film opened to a slow start at the box office but picked up as positive word of mouth grew during its theatrical run.
